Eagle 8, routing [message #169413] Thu, 16 February 2017 00:31 Go to next message

Question on routing change from 7 to 8:

In Eagle 7, changing layer when routing changes the layer of the current
segment. In Eagle 8, it creates a via and changes the next segment. Is there
any way to change this? ALternatively, is there any other way to change the
layer when starting to route a new segment that change at the layer selection in
the upper panel?

Hello Antti,

I hope you're doing well. This new behavior can't be changed, it's an
overhaul of the whole routing engine. This was done to set the ground
work for the future routing enhancements that will be added to EAGLE.

With that said, you can switch layers on a new segment without having to
go up to the layer selection on the upper panel. Hold shift and click
the middle mouse button.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,
Jorge Garcia
