the cd that I have for installing Eagle is old and I want to put the version I have on my desktop onto a new laptop.  Now that Eagle has new owner I'm lost.

As long as you have the license file and the installation key, it's no
problem. Get "your" software version here
<ftp://ftp.cadsoft.de/eagle/program/>
if it's not older than 4.0.

If you don't have your license file and the installation key, well ...
then you're probably lost indeed. I fear that Autodesk won't help you to
regain your old license data. :-(

Tilmann,
Thanks so much for your prompt reply.  I do have License key but I'm running 6.5.0 which is not listed.

Hi Tilman,

I hope you're doing well. This is not true, we are still supporting our
legacy users by maintaining access to the old versions and sending out
licensing materials for the old versions of EAGLE.

So if Eileen has lost these materials she can e-mail
sales@cadsoftusa.com and have it resent. Same goes for any of our legacy
users.

Best Regards,
Jorge Garcia

JFTR: With EAGLE, it's always advisable to use the latest release of the
given major version... (i.e. 4.09r2, 4.16r2, 5.12, 6.6, 7.7)
