I can't seem to find a BT157 triac in Eagle. Is it okay if I use BT138 instead?
Also, what element should I use for the transformer and dimmer control (potentiometers)??

Hi,

for the TRIAC - yes you can use it. Just rename it to BT157 in the schematic.
If you like to make a BT157, just create a device BT157 and copy from BT138 the symbol and part to the device.
The two devices comes from the same family.

The transformer is an PCB mounted transformer.
But look for that, that the schematic is very old. So look for an transformer what you get today - security capsulated transformer .
The lamp is an 12V halogen lamp (e.g. like from automotive, or 12V household spot lamps) with defined power.

The potentiometers are normally linear potentiometers but with plastic shaft.

Regards,
Gerald

in triac.lbr
I created for you.
Just drag and drop the BT157 in horizontal or vertical mounting.
