Hi,

I got such warning :

> Warning(s):
>
> line 1495: Contact '2' of element 'C12' is connected to several signals: 'GND' and 'GND'
> line 1497: Contact '2' of element 'C10' is connected to several signals: 'GND' and 'GND'
> line 1500: Contact '2' of element 'C11' is connected to several signals: 'GND' and 'GND'
> line 2301: Contact '2' of element 'R59' is connected to several signals: 'N$14' and 'N$14'

Hmmm, seems to be a bug. Only when Eagle starts.

Thanks for sending the files.
In the board file I can see double entrys for the contact refs like
here:

........
<signal name="GND" class="1">
<contactref element="IC5" pad="4"/>
.......
<contactref element="C12" pad="2"/>
<contactref element="C12" pad="2"/>
<contactref element="C10" pad="2"/> <-----
<contactref element="C10" pad="2"/> <-----
<contactref element="IC1" pad="3"/>
<contactref element="C11" pad="2"/> <-----
<contactref element="C11" pad="2"/> <-----
<contactref element="R11" pad="1"/>
........

I do not have an idea how this happened, but it is easy to solve:
Simply delete the double lines as it is mentioned in the rpt file.

This check was intended to find contacts that are connected to
different nets. As far as I remember we had one example file in
the past where this happened. We never saw two signals with the
same net name at a contact.....

Was the file created in V7 or does it contain parts of other
files from older EAGLE versions? Maybe the problem already existed
in an older EAGLE version, but was not discovered?

Yes, currently I don't have another solution. We will think about
a kind of "self-repair" when loading such a file.

For me is more interesting, why Eagle *save* the file with double lines !!!!

Was the file designed in BV7 only or is its origin in an older version
or maybe you copied something from older files?

This one was sure designed with an older version ...

It seems some element definitions are wrong ...

Hi,

since 7.6.0 we check for such double connected contacts. It's not a
problem of V7.6, we only did not check this in previous versions.
Simply delete one those doubled lines in the board file and all
will be okay.

I suppose that the origin of your projects is in a version before
6.0, isn't it?

Hello,

just to confirm: I notice this warning too on designs that were originally designed in v6.x.

Any chance these double connections could be fixed automatically in v7.6.1 if the signal names of the various signals are identical? Fixing it manually for a single design is an option, but if you have an extended set of projects it is quite tedious and possibly error-prone to do this by hand.

Best regards,
Lieven.

This is already implemented in V7.6.1.
