Hey everyone,

I made an easy tool to convert SVG files into Eagle CAD boards which you
can import into your existing board. Unlike existing svg import scripts,
this one will automatically convert paths with holes into eagle polygons
without holes, so it's very easy to add text to your board.
Try it at http://svg2eagle.jcnossen.nl

One interesting way to do an any-to-EAGLE conversion is to make use of
Inkscape. It allows the conversion of many formats into HPGL format.
To make use of that trick, I wrote a simple HPGL to EAGLE converter (it
is open source).
The procedure is not a single step of course (needs Inkscape).

Just wondering, are you planning to share the source files too, so
people can run it on their own server?
The reason is that people may not want to upload personal image files.
If you open source it, then people can contribute to it and improve it.

Maybe I'll release an binary version, but the source is part of a larger
commercial project that I'm building so I don't think I want top
opensource it right now.
It's just an experiment for me.

Hello Jelmer, this is a nice tool.  One comment, the Top and Bottom
layers are not formed correctly in the .brd file.  Those need to be
within <signals><signal name="somename"></signal><signals>, not the
<plain>.  I had to correct these by hand to use the output.
It would also be nice to support the tStop and bStop (29 and 30)
layers.  Those combined with the top/bottom allow you to make exposed
graphics.
