Excited that EAGLE finally provides file locking. Just two issues:

1)
in case of a conflict, the lock info popup window only says "owner
unknown". In order to find the "bad guy", it would be very helpful if a
user name could be provided, like e.g. LibreOffice does.
Inside the lockfile, i see at least my machine name. But this does not
necessarily reflect my username.

2)
When i open a board on a read-only Samba share for viewing, the file
conflict popup window comes up. I select "ignore lock". Fine. Switching
to the schematic works as expected, but anytime i want to switch back to
the board, the conflict popup window comes up again. This is annoying.

(Win7, eagle-win64-7.2.1-beta)

the user name is provided if available. On Windows this depends on the type of filesystem.
In any case, we intend to add the name of the locker's machine.

We work on this.

Well, the program is installed on a local NTFS partition (not
C:\Programme...) This is imho a filesystem with user information.
I tried opening two times:
$EAGLEDIR\projects\examples\arduino\Arduino_MEGA2560_ref.sch
-> "owner unknown"
Why not something like:
echo %username% >> ".%filename%.LOCK"
?
This would be independent of any filesystem.
