Sorry for my english. I want to see the potentiometers in the schematics but I don't want to see them in the board ( they are put in the front of the final box, not on the board)? They are connected by wires from the board. Hope you understand my need.Original article at http://www.element14.com/community/message/135460?tstart=0#135460.

So you want the potentiometer for testing on the schematic and not on the board? If so you can create the board when the potentiometer not on there and then place it on the schematic, board and schematic files are not connected, only if you use the board creation button Original article at http://www.element14.com/community/message/135461?tstart=0#135461.

Ok I create the board and after that I can put others components around the board on the shematics. But If I save this schematic what about the board? Is it with these components or not ? Original article at http://www.element14.com/community/message/135462?tstart=0#135462.

if you dont convert your schematic to board no the components wont follow, just to be sure you can move your board file away from the original folder Original article at http://www.element14.com/community/message/135463?tstart=0#135463.

If you are connecting the potentiometer by wires, won't you require some thru-holes to connect the wires. In that case you can have a custom foot-print corresponding to where you need the wiresOriginal article at http://www.element14.com/community/message/135476?tstart=0#135476.
