Hi,

I am reporting the bug here as it might get the needed visibility by the developers.

This problem was already observed in V6.6.0 and is still present in the 7.1.3 beta version. ( http://www.element14.com/community/message/130058/l/re-osx-yosemite-and-slo w-zooming-with-660)

It looks like the Eagle window is receiving so many redraw events that it is unable to cope with, which results in a very lagy response.

Machine used to reproduce the bug: MacBook Pro early 2012 17"

The zooming lag is present while using both the on board Intel chip set as well as the faster AMD Radeon HD.

So it is not related to the graphics driver as suggested in the community discussion post.

Regards,
Piotr Esden-Tempski

we are aware of that problem. The point is that we don't support Yosemite (OSX 10.10) yet,
because we use 3rd party software for graphics that only supports OSX 10.9.
V6.6 is officially supported only to 10.8.
We plan to change to a newer version of our graphic libs and can support 10.10 then.
We'll take care that these graphical bugs are fixed then.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Addendum:

In general EAGLE works fine with newer MAC operating systems not officially supported yet,
but we can't avoid that this or that graphical issue slips in.
We don't know if it's more a problem of our graphics libraries or of Apple itself,
but we assume the latter...

Hi,

Thank you for your answer. I am glad you are aware of the issue. According to the QT blog the V5.4 (http://blog.qt.digia.com/blog/2014/10/17/qt-5-4-beta-available/) has improved support for Yosemite. Did you already have a chance to test the codebase with the newer beta version? Is it improving the situation? I am asking because if it does then it gives us hope that with the release of 5.4 we will be able to get a usable version of Eagle for Yosemite.

Thank you for your good work.

Regards,
Piotr Esden-Tempski

Thanks. We didn't test that so far. We will announce it in the Download page when we support
Yosemite. The fixed bugs are mentioned in the update documentation of each version.
