To recreate this, start with empty board and sch.
Place a supply symbol and a 2pin component. Connect both pins to the supply
symbol.
Route the airwire on board editor in any way.
Add same power supply symbol again and wire it to same net and watch the
routed net being ripped up as they are joined.

This causes BIG annoyance when splitting decoupling capacitors into groups.
The bug is also present in 7.1.0

Probably introduced at the same time as the bug in topic "Severe 7.1 issue"
posted in support.eng 25th of August?

yes, it was introduced while extending net/segment combining/splitting to hierarchical nets.
Sorry for this! We look into it.

this one is fixed for 7.1.4. The problem, if it's 2 different nets is still pending.

Did this bug travel onto the 7.2.0? It looks fine on 7.1.4..

I may have problems distinguishing between the different ripup bugs I see..
I need more time to look at it..

The case of merging 2 net segments with the same name is fixed.
The case of merging segments of 2 different nets is still pending.
It requires a more risky and fundamental change, so we didn't put it into 7.1.4 resp. 7.2.0.

Any ETA on this? I have to use 6.5.4 until this is resolved.

It's been a while. Any news on this bug? It still prevents me from
moving from 6.5.4 to 7.x..

Hi Morten

I cannot make it happen with 7.2.2

The release notes fro 7.2.0 have this to say
- Fix for unintended ripup of the corresponding signal if connecting
segments
of the same net.

Looks like it is fixed
